SLIGHT RISE IN AUCKLAND

[HY TELEGRAPH. —OWN' CORRESPONDENT.] WELLINGTON. Friday.

There was a decrease of 176 compared with tho previous week in the number of unemployed registered in New Zealand for tho week ended last Monday, according to a statement made to-day by tho Minister of Labour, the Hon. S- G. Smith.

The week's total was 5463, and the details of registration at labour bureaux and post offices are as follows:—Auckland, 732 with dependants, 572 without dependants; Wellington, 536 and 374; Christi hurch, 615 and 379; Dunedin, 355 and 155; lnvercargill, 106 and 72. The totals for the five centres (with the figures for the previous week in parentheses) are as follows:—Auckland, 1304 (1296); Wellington, 910 (1006); Christchurch, 994 (979); Dunedin, 470 (566); lnvercargill, 178 (164).
