ROPE RESCUE ON CLIFF.
While clambering on the cliffs at Land's End recently to obtain a souvenir, a Birmingham youth, Hoyden Swinstoc, aged 17, fell into the water and lost his li?e.
Mr. Cecil Roland-Parratt, a Buckinghamshire visitor, attempted to climb to Swinstoo, but when half-way down he was unable to move either way.
An attempt was then made to rescue Mr. Parratt before lie lost his grip. A coastguard clambered down a rope and fastened another rope round Mr. Parratt, who was pulled to safety. The coastguardsman next lowered himself to the bottom and fastened ropes round Swinstoe's body and both were hauled to the top.
