EL'LERSLIE CLUB'S TOURNEY.

A successful tournament held by the Fillcrslie Bowling Club was won by the rink skipped by Tomlinson. Large entries were received and _ tho contesting rinks played in four sections. Following ore summaries of the section play:— •Section A. —Tomlinson, five wins; Vendibles, three wins arid one loss; Wood, three wins and two losses; Gollan, two ■wins and three losses; Blackwell, one win and three losses; Jones, five losses. Section B: Corner, five wins; Low, four wins end one loss; C. Maher, Lamb and H. Johnston, three wins and two losses; Hay and Coppins, one win and four losses. Section C: Purdy, five wins; Lippiatt, four wins and one loss; Campbell, three ■wins and two losses; Marks and Howell, one and a-half wins and three and a-half losses: Segedin, five losses. Section D: [Russell, four wins arid one loss; Hill, Haslam, Patterson and Westbrooke, three -v.-ins and two losses; 7'ov and Price, two wins and three losses; Tyndall, five losses. In the semi-finals, Purdy and Tomlinson scored wins against Russell and Corner, and in the final Tomlinson beat Purdy. MATAMATA CLUB. LAST SEASON'S SUCCESSES. Tlie success of the Matamata Bowling Club in tournament and shield matches last season was referred to in the report presented at the annual meeting of the club. The president, Mr. W. Egan, presided. The club's successes included the "winning of the Clothier Shield for the third year in succession, the Howden •Shield, the Cloldfield Stars and the Eraser Stars.
