OTAHUHU RELIEF WORK.
IMPROVEMENTS TO PARK. STATE SUBSIDY AVAILABLE. The Otahuhu Borough Council was advised at its meeting on Thursday evening that tho State subsidy of £2 to £1 on latour, up to the sum of £l4O, for the relief of unemployment had been approved for construction work on tho borough. Proposals for tho improvement of tho Albion Lane footpath from funds received from the Otahuhu Returned Soldiers' Social Club, together with subsidies from tho council and tho Government, wero received, and a previous resolution authorising this work was rescinded. It was decided to expend tho money on Sturgess Park in repairing and- beautifying the drive from the ground to Railway Street, terracing tho northern slopes of tho football ground, and clearing up the park.
