AUCKLAND AERO CLUB.
As soon as the necessary survey has been made on the Mangere Aerodrome, which is now the property of the Auckland Aero Club, the work of levelling ridges and filling in gullies will commence. It is anticipated that . ? ground will be suitable for larger-sized aircraft than the conventional club machine as soon as these improvements are completed. Plans are also under consideration for the erection of a club-house, and the laying down of a golf course and tennis courts. It is also planned to shift the hangars to a more suitable position. It is hoped that this work will be sufficiently advanced by Christmas to enable members to play golf and tennis at the aerodrome. Several of the club's pupil members made their first solo flights during the week, and other intending pupils have joined the club.
