Furs are best limited to hard-wearing fur or fur-lined coats for driving, though leather is the best all-weather wear. The perfect colours for sports wear are those which melt into a natural background—- , that's why tweeds aro so good. The term " sports clothes" can now be taken to include everything suitable for country wear and travelling. For summer sports clothes (washing Bilks, etc.): — Shoes.—White-and-tan summer shoes, plaited sandals. Stockings.—Chiffon lisle in sunburn tones. Hat.—Shady country straws. Berets. No hat when possible. Bag.—Striped linen, straw, or raffia.
