ONEHUNGA KINDERGARTEN.
A MORNING TEA HELD. An opportunity of seeing the children of the Onehunga Free Kindergarten at work was taken by the members of the ladies' committee and other interested friends on Thursday morning. Tho children performed their morning exercises and sang choruses under tho supervision of tho directors and keen interest in their work was displayed by the visitors. Morning tea was served in the schoolroom and at tho same time tho children were given milk and rusks, a welcome innovation at the kindergarten during the winter months.
A presentation of dainty china ware was made to Mrs. H. Murdoch and Miss Watkins, who have occupied the positions of president and treasurer respectively for tho past four years. Songs were given by Mrs. Hobday, and were very much enjoyed. Tho members of the committee who were present wore:—Mrs. David Cuthbcrt, president, Mrs. J. Chapman, Mrs. 11. Murdoch, Mrs. E. V. Sutherland, Mrs. J. Kirkwood, Mrs. C. J. Neill, Mrs. Norman Wade, Mrs. Val Kirk and Mrs. E. Jones. Others present were:—Mrs. ft. Buchanan, Mrs. _ Nowcombe, Mrs. Howard Nowcombe, Miss Earle, Mrs. Wilkinson, Mrs. Wathew, Mrs. Bodd'.e, Mrs. Bates, Mrs. Toye, Mrs. Graham, Mrs. Davenport, Mrs. P. Margetts, Miss Zoo Margett-s, Mrs. Hobday, Mrs. Sadler, Mrs. Kidd, Mrs. Pascoe, Mrs. Fordham, Mrs. Coutts, Mrs. Phillips, Mist! Neill, Mrs. Fowke, Mrs. W. Warnock, Mrs. A. Price, Mrs. A. G. Mabee, Mrs. D. Birk Jones, Miss Brookfield, Miss O.xley, Miss Talbot, Miss H. Smith, Miss M. Christie and Mrs. Ransom.
