WARKWORTH.

FANCY-DRESS BALL. To assist in raising funds for improvement of the school ground (ho staff and scholars of the Warkworth District High School hold a fancy dress ball in the Warkworth Town Hall on Thursday night. About 200 children attended —all in fancy dross —and for two hours went through a series of old-time country dances, etc., with great credit to their instructor. The hall was beautifully decorated by the children with coloured streamers, paper flowers, nikau and clusters of wattle bloom, and lit with coloured electric lights, set off tho gay dresses of tho children to perfection. After tho children's items a general dance was held, the hall being crowded. Tho school funds will receive from this effort about £4O, which it, is understood will carry a subsidy of pound for pound—a welcome addition which will onablo tho committee to carry out projected improvement!.
