WEEK-END WEATHER. HERALD'S SPECIAL FORECAST. Tho following weather forecast for 48 hours from 7 a.m. to-day was supplied by Mr. H. M. Vincent last evening:— Fair to fine weather is indicated over most of tho Dominion during tho week-end, but with considerable cloudiness developing, especially in northern districts. A disturbance of tropical character is expected to develop north-westward of the Dominion, and affect tho northern portion of the North Island at tho beginning of the week. Variable and moderate breezes, easterly to north-easterly winds, moderato to strong, prevailing and freshening in tho north. Soar, smooth to moderato, increasing on tho oast coast, and becoming rough, particularly northward from Whangarei. Local outlook: Fair to fine, although with increasing cloudiness for chango to follow about Monday. Mild temperatures. Barometer, midnight, steady .. 30.40jn. Midnight, Thursday .. .. 30.35 in. The Government meteorologist reported last evening .as follows Pressure is very high from eastern Australia across tho Tasman Sea to beyond New Zealand. Indications are for variable and light to moderato winds. Seas moderate in a few exposed places, but for tho most part smooth. Variable and light to moderate winds in the eastern Tasman Sea, with northerlies prevailing. Seas smooth to moderate. The weather will bo fair to fine for tho most part, but cloudy and misty in places. A few isolated showers are likely, more especially on tho east coast. Cool night, but mild day tempera tures.
