WAITEMATA POWER.

PROPOSAL FOR AIRPORT. REVENUE FOR PAST MONTH. A letter from fho Auckland City Council seeking the board's opinion on the proposal for a commercial airport was received at a meeting of the W aitemata Electric-Power Board yesterday. The chairman. Mr. G. Trevithick, said the matter was outside the province of the board. The site chosen was not likely to he in the board's area, but would probably be in Mangere or adjacent level country. Most of the board's members were also members of local bodies and had already expressed their views. In reply to a question Mr. Trevithick said the scheme did not commit the board in any way. as power and drainage boards were not liable to contributions to the cost. The letter was received. The secretary-treasurer, Mr. A. Main, reported that the gross sales of current for the past month amounted to £5739, an increase of £343 as compared with July of last year. Tho gross sales for tho period of four months ended July 31 totalled £26,830, an increase of £3OBO as compared with the corresponding period last year. The report of the engineer, Mr. I<. J. H. Wilson, staled that good progress had been mads with the extension of services in the Ilclensville and AVaimario districts, 17 new consumers having been connected. Work in the North Shore areas was proceeding satisfactorily.
