NEGLIGENCE ALLEGED.
' SEQUEL TO FATALITY. CAR'S CRASH INTO POLE. A charge of driving in a negligent manner, which resulted in the death of another person, nnd f» chargo of being intoxicated while driving, were preferred against Robert John Burling, who appeared on remand before Mr. F. 11. Levien, S.M., in the Otahuhu Police Court yesterday.
The case arose out of a fatal accident on the Great South Road, near Manurewa, on the evening of August 2, when a car from the Taumarunui district, driven by Burling, crashed into a telegraph polo at a corner, with the result that a passenger, Mr. Charles Simon, was killed. On the application of tho polico a further remand until August 26 was granted.
