AUCKLAND CLUB. A 2. r »-miles hnndirnp rnarl rare was conducted by the Auckland Cycle f"ub on Saturday. Three circuit* of a. ric-w course of seven miles and a-half in circumference and one lap of the usual 2!-miles circuit had to be covered. Several severe grades had to be negotiated. ,T. McDonald fell on tho initial lnp, but remounted to finish fourth. The boisterous westerly wind and intermittent showers made tho raeo a gruelling contest. R. Oreen, 7m 'los, Tode off Ihe limit mark, while K. J. Muthieuon and S. Hayis shared the virtual PTatch mark, ;ins. The successful riders were as follows: - F. Taylor. !lm. 1: S. Gooch. 2m 00s. 2! K. Green. 7m ■los, J. McDonald, Mm, 4. Gooch registered the fastest time in 7.1 m Is. a fino rido considering tho conditions.

Cartwiight presiding over n good Itlfenfhince of members. The chairman, reviewing the operations of the past season, which had proved very successful, said the cluli was in a sound financial position. Four local riders were in training for the HamiltonAuckland road race.
