POWER BOARD ELECTION.

FINAL POSITION UNCHANGED MR. WATERS' CLOSE CALL. The final count of tho votes cast in the election of members of tfio Auckland Power Board last Wednesday leaves the position unchanged as far as the members returned are concerned. Tho old board is re-elected. Although tho figures aro materially altered in many cases, there has been only ono change in position. The official riturn places Mr. 11. G. Clark in fifth position, ono vote ahead of Mr. J. Dernpscy. At the first announcement Mr. Dernpsey was credited with fifth position with 3338 votes, but this total has been reduced to 3277, while Mr. Clark's total has also been reduced from 3321 to 3278. A close contest took place for the last seat on tho board between* Mr. F. M. Waters, tho sitting member, and Mr. S. W. House. At the first count Mr Waters had a majority of 31 votes, the totals being 2792 and 2761 respectively. The final return credits Mr. Waters with 2738 votes and Mr. House with 2733, a majority of five in favour of tho sitting rj ember.
