SOWING IN CANTERBURY.

Recent rains in the South Canterbury district havu left tho ground in splendid order for the sowing of wheat, which for the most part is now progressing satisfactorily. It is expected that threshing in the district will bo practically completed within a fortnight. It is expected that there will be a falling oIT in the area, and a difference in the yields, compared with those of last season.
