OBITUARY.
LORD DEWAR. LONDON, April 11, The death is announced of Lord Dewar in his 66th year. The late Lord Dewar was bom on January 6, 1864. He was managing director of John Dewar and Sons, Ltd., distillers, of Perth a:ud London, and director of other companies. He was a members of the London County Council, 1892-95; M.P. for St. George's, Tower Hamlets, 1900-6; Sheriff of the City of London, 1897-98; and Lieutenant of the City of London. Lord Dewar was the author of "A Ramble Round the Globe, "Prohibition in the United States, Canada and New Zealand," " Experiences of the Gothenburg System," and " leasts and Maxims and Wisdom Compressed., lie was a prominert figure on the English turf and was not id for his o witty afterdinner speeches. Lord Dewar was a bachelor. There is no heir to the barony.
