WEIR'S BATTING FIGURES.

The consistent G. L. Weir again beads the Auckland batting averages in Plunket Shield cricket with the fine figures of 95.66 for four innings, including one not out. Last year Weir headed the table with an average of 131.00 for four innings, including two not outs. Allcott, Mills, Gillespie and Garrard also finish with splendid averages, but the last-named played only one innings. Dempster, who played two innings, leads the Wellington players with an avcragQ of 148, including one innings for 141 not out. The cx-Aucklander McLeod is next on the list with figures of 68.50 in two innings.

Tho Auckland coach Wensley takes the bowling honours for his province with 15 wickets, tho most secured, at an average of 21.66. It will bo remembered Wensley made his great success against Otago in' which match he secured nino for 36 and threo for 44.'

Tho veteran Anthony has proved a great asset to tho sido as besides a batting average of 44,25 ho has taken 12 wickets at a cost of 21.91.
