ACCUMULATOR HINTS.
The liquid in an H.T. accumulator should never be spilt upon the case.
An accumulator is a very robust piece of apparatus, provided it is looked after carefullv.
One of tho best ways of testing the con. di(ion of a low-tension accumulator is by means of a hydrometer.
It is useless to expect really good quality unless you have ample lI.T. voltage and current available for tho various valves.
The voltage of an accumulator should never be allowed to drop below 1.8 in the case of a 2-volter; 3.6 in the case of the 4-volt battery; or 5.4 for a 6-volt accumulator.
Any leakage, however small, across the insulation of an lI.T. accumulator constitutes a continuous discharge, so that great attention should be paid to maintaining tho insulation as perfectly as possible.
