CAR PLUNGES 250 FEET.

Six peoplo had a miraculous escapo from death last evening when the motorcur in which they were riding plunged over a bank and fell 250 ft. The car landed on its.' wheels in the Ohura River. Four .of tlio occupants were taken to tho Tounnmmui Hospital, as follows: Stanley Jones, aged seven, fracture of the arm. Mr. W. de Malmanche, farmer, of Otangiwai, abrasions and bruises to the back.

Mrs. do Malmanche, bruises ami shocK. Miss do Malmanche, bruises and shock. Tho accident occurred at McGovern s Hill, near Matiero, on the Ohuni-Ongarue Road. Mr. de Malmanche was driving the car to Tapuiwahine, intending to visit Mr. W. do Malmanche, junr. Besides those injured the car contained Mr.. J. Passmore, of Matiere, and oncothor passenger. When the vehicle went over the banK all the occupants, with the exception ol Mr. Pnssmoro, were thrown out. Dr. Fisher, of Taumarunui, and the Taumarunui ambulance were called to the scone of the accident, where the injured were attended before their removal to the hospital. Stanley Jones is a grand son«of M>'< and Mrs. de Malmanche.
