COMBINED CLUBS' CARNIVAL.

CHAMPIONSHIP TO BRIDSON. UNOPPOSED IN QUARTER-MILE. Another title was annexed by G. Bridson, the Now Zealand all-round champion, at the Ponsonby and Grammar Swimming Clnbs' combined carnival held in the Tepid Baths Inst evening. Unopposed, Bridson swam strongly in the quarter-mile Auckland championship, returning the impressive time of 5m 20 3-os, which is -1 l-5s slower than his own Dominion record for the distance. The 200 yds inter-club relay race, in which fi#o clubs were represented, was an exciting contest, victory falling to Grammar by n narrow margin over Mount Eden. The first race, oVer a distance .of 50yds, for the junior championship of the Ponsonby Club, resulted in a victory for L. Smythe, who defeated the only other starter, A. Lockie, by a yard. Competition in the various handicap events was keen, and some closo finishes wero witnessed by a fair attendance of spectators. MOUNT EDEN CLUB'S CARNIVAL.

The Mount Edeu Swimming Club will conduct its second carnival of the season at the Mount Edeu Baths, Bellvue Road, next Thursday. A very attractive programme o£ events has been arranged, including the 50.vds Auckland championship, 220 yds Weston Cup handicap. (>6 2-3 yds inter-club handicap, 100 yds back-stroke, C>6 2-3 yds ladies' handicap, 50yds. novice handicap, 50yds boys' handicap and events for declared members of the club.
