WOMAN'S BODY IN RIVER.
VERDICT AT THE INQUEST.

, The mystery surrounding the disappearance from Urenui on Saturday night of Mrs. Mabel Hooper, aged 45, of Ilawera. was cleared up yesterday by tho discovery of her body in tho Urenui River in a deep hole not far from tho suspension bridge. Dragging operations had been carried out sinco' the disappearance of Mis. Hooper owing to footprints having been found leading to tho river. This morning an inquest was held. Tho husband of deceased said his wife had had u clown ' and a doctor had to Tvinn;' T' S °, ho bad brou Kht her to Uienni. Since her illness deceased had shown suicidal tendencies. the jury returned a verdict that death while in i°, d f eased drowning herself while in a depressed state of mind followine serious illness.
