INTER-CLUB COMPETITIONS. The following inter-club games will be played under tho auspices of tho Auckland Lawn Tennis Association on Saturday:— Grado B.—Auckland v. Mount Albert. SEMI-FINALS AND FINAL GAMES. The following matches in tho Auckland Lawn Tennis Association's C grado championship have been set down for decision at Stanley Street to-morrow at 5 p.m.:— Men's Doubles.—Setni-fijials: Hickson and Tutt v. Stephens and Plant; Barfoot and McElroy v. Wood and Tonson. Final to follow immediately. Combined Doubles.—Elder and Miss Bryant v. Wilson and Miss Lloyd; winner of above to play Mclunes and Miss Fitzpa trick. Men's Singles.—Semi-final; Cheal v. Teal. Combined Doubles.—Jaino and Miss Ferguson v. McElroy and Miss Baxter; Barfoot and Miss Mackie v. Wade and Miss Trayes; winners to play off immediately afterwards or at 5 p.m. on Friday. TUAKAU CLUB. OPENING OF NEW COURTS. Enterprise of a commendable nature has been shown by tho Tuakau Lawn Tennis Club in laying down four new bitumen courts on tho Tuakau Recreation Grourld, acquired by a joint body of sports representatives and citizens of the town some three years ago to provide adequate grounds for football, hockey, tennis and other sports at Tuakau." This body, the -Tuakau Recreation Club, allocated portion of tho ground io tho Tennis Club, which faced the necessary expenditure of £SOO to there lay down four first-class courts. At tho official opening Mr. Victor Johns, the well-known Auckland player, congratulated the club on the possession of such fine courts, mentioning that they were splendidly surfaced, correctly spaced, with back-lino measurement two feet greater than for Davis Cup requirements. Tho president of the Franklin Lawn Tennis Association. Mr. M. S. Campbell, also congratulated the club. Ho said the object of the association was to raise the standard of tennis in its district. A great help to this end—in fact, an essential factor —was tho provision of first-class courts by the clubs, and he was pleased to see tho Tuakau Club had set itself out to give its members courts second to none. The Auckland playe.3 who gave exhibition matches were Mr. and Mrs. Johns, Miss Whitelaw, and Messrs. Hayr, Turner and Campbell. Visitors were also present from neighbouring clubs. including Mercer. Pokeno, Pokeno Valley, Onewhero, Bombay and several clubs in Pukekohe. The club Tetains its three previous courts, which are situated on grounds in tho same locality, and these have been put in good order lor juvenile members. WIN FOR HOBSON VILLE. Playing in the M. K. Warron Cup competition, the Hobsonvillo Lawn Tennis Club's team defeated Riveihead by 9 sets to 4 at Hobsonville. Following are tho results, Riverliead players being mentioned first:— Men's Singles.—R. Gould beat M. Clark. 9—4; B. Levy beat M. Shaw, 9 —5: W. McKibbin lost to A. Armistead, 5 —9; R. Hall beat S. Wiseley. 9—G. Men's Doubles.—Gould and Levy beat Clark and Shaw, 9—G; McKibbin an'd Hall lost to Armistead and Wiseley, 4—9; S. Wathen and G. Levy lost to Nicklin and Ounn. 5—9. Ladies' Singles.—Mrs. H. L. Crook lost to Mrs. J. Birch, 4—7; Mrs. R. Gould lost to Miss M. Sinton, 3—7. Ladies' Donbles.—Mesdames Crook and Gould lost t'> Mrs. Birch and Miss M. Sinton, 4—7; Miss W. Davis and Mrs. McKibbin lost to Mrs. S. Wiseley and Mis 3 G. Sinton. 2—7. Combined Doubles.—S. Walhen and Miss Davis lost to Nicklin and Mrs. S. Wiseley. 4—7; G.
