TRADER SENT INTO EXILE.

The Fiji Times reports the deportation of one who is said to have been a rnuse of worry to the Government for many years. The Times says that Avolofii was deported to Rotuma for seven vfarp. At the end of that, term be was allowed to return to Fiji. Hq lived for a. while at Yasawas where he engaged in trading. ' It is alleged that his activities became too pronounced and the Government decided that his absqnco would be preferable to his company. His headquarters were at Nadi. *Tho Adi Beti, with SubTnspector Flower, was sent to Lautoka. Avolosi was quietly arrested and brought to Suva on January 13. He was transhipped to H.M.C.S. Pioneer and sailed for Rotuma for a, prolonged exile, believed to be ten years. The whole business was carried out quietly and there was no trouble.
