LIFE-SAVING SOCIETY.
PAID BEACH PATROLS. REINSTATEMENT ADVOCATED. [by telegraph.—press association,] GREYMOUTH. Tuesday. At the conference of the Royal LifeSaving Society this evening it was decided that future championships be held only on beaches where there are active surf clubs.
The conference also adopted a remit that swimmers who have lost their amateur status through acting as paid beach patrol men be recommended to the New Zealand Council for reinstatement after a lapse of three months.
