HONEY CAKE.

'A reader asks for a cako recipe where Jioney is used to sweeten instead of sugar. Ingredients: Half a pound of (lour, ihreo ounces of butter, two eggs, half a pill of honey, a quarter of a pound of raisins, a.quarter of a pound of currants, two ounces of citron peel, a pinch each cif grated nutmeg and powdered cloves, tlireo tablespoonfuls of milk, half a teaspoonful of bicarbonate of soda, ono teaspoonful of cream of tartar, a pinch of salt. Mix together the flour, salt, spice, carbonate of soda and cream of tartar. Rub in tho butterj stir in tho stoned raisins, currants and sliced peel. Then add tho honey, tho well-beaten eggs and tho milk. When thoroughly mixed, turn into a wellgreased tin and bake for an hour arid a Lalf in a,slow oven.
