Mrs. T. C. Fookes, of New Plymouth, 3s visiting Auckland. Mrs. W. J. Treadwoll has returned to TVanganui from a visit to Auckland. Mrs Colin Strang has returned to New Plymouth from a visit to Auckland and Rotorun. Mr. and Mrs. E. Young, of Sydney, are visiting Auckland, and are staying at Glrnalvon. Mrs. J. Williams has returned to 'Hamilton from a visit to Christchuich, Auckland and Tauranga. Mr. and Mrs. C. K. St. Clair Woollams, of Auckland, left yesterday by the Marama for a visit to Sydney. Miss L. Cohn and Miss Taylor, of Wellington, arc on a visit lo Auckland, and are staying at Braeburn. Miss Muir, lady superintendent of the Christchurch Public Hospital, has returned from a visit to Auckland. Mrs. Matthew Ryan, of Devonport. with her family, is visiting her sister at Wharepaina, in the Rotorua district. Misses Sybil and Evelyn Mahoney, of Remuera, returned to Auckland this week lifter a visit to Honolulu, America and Australia. Mrs. H. Cunninghame, of Palmerston North, who has been visiting North Auckland, has gone to Ilavelock North before returning home.

At a recent gathering of the League t>f Penwomen, over which Mrs. Crump presided, an interesting time was spent in impromptu speeches. Myers, has been asked by Sir James Parr to bo a New Zealand "delegate at the League of Nations and to act as his substitute in certain departments. Miss Myers looks upon it as a great honour and privilego to be associated with this work, which will bring her into close relationship with some of the great, men and women thero who are similarly engaged.

Mrs. Worden ar.d Miss Worden, of Christchurch, who arc at present in England, are thinking of wintering in the South of France. Miss Worden has been ' helping to look after about 3000 children who daily go to play on tho site of what was once the Foundling Hospital in Bloomsbnry. When tho institution was moved Lord Rothermero started the idea of using the spacious sito as a children's park, and Miss Worden has found her voluntary task among them very intcr- ' esting, and tho children very intelligent. An enjoyable afternoon was spent at tho Business Girls' Clubrooms thip week when the Mount Albert Croquet Club held a bridge and 500 afternoon. The winners were Mr 3. Middlebrook in bridge, and Mrs. Hicks in 500. Among those present were: Mrs. Page, Miss Lambe, Mrs. Robertson, Mrs. Maxwell, Miss "/■' Thomson, Mis. The Tahutamai Company of Girl Guides recently celebrated their sixth birthday with a party. Various amusing games were played and a programme of entertainment was enjoyca. .Betty Insull gave / a recitation, and several Guides from the Tahutamai Company took part in a little dance entitled "Tba Skaters." After Bupper Mrs-. McNair, commissioner for Epsom, addressed tho Guides, and pre--7 sented cups to the Tahutamai Company. The Bruci Swimming Cup was presented / to the Heather and Snowdrop leaders, M. McMillan and A. Brindle, who tied for first place at the recent sports. Tho comf>any flag was presented to the Daffodil oader, Stella Insull, and the company shield to the Red Rose leader, Queenie , Colled ge.
