WEDDINGS.

IRVINE-DOWNEY. The wedding was celebrated in St. Stephen's Church, Opotiki, on Tuesday of Miss Slarjorie Eileen Downey, fifth daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. M. Downey, to Sir. Kenneth Latuond Irvine, second sou of Sir. and Sirs. A. Irvine, of Feilding. The Rev. J. E. Draper performed the ceremony. Tho bride, who was given away by her brother-in-law, Mi'. R. Gritliu, wore a frock of cream georgette with dared tiered skirt finished with a diamanto buckle, tier veil was caught in place with orange blossoms, ami she carried a bouquet of freezias and pink geraniums. The bridesmaid, Sliss Joyce Downey, sister of the. bride, wore a period frock of blue georgette with silver trimming, and a two-tone matching felt hat. Her bouquet was of pink anemones. Sir. E. Slackay was best man. The bridal party left the church to the strains of the "Wedding March," played by Sliss Sydenham. DEVONSHIBIv-FYFE. Tho marriage was celebrated at the Presbyterian Church, Gardner Road, Knsom, on Thursday evening, of Miss Ina Ailsa l-'yfe, older daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Kyle, of St urdeo Road, Slanurowa. to Sir.* Charles J. Devonshire, voungest son of Mrs. K. Devonshire und the late Mr. J. Devonshire, of Otaki. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, wore a bouffant white talfeta frock dipping at the back, and finished with silver embroidery, and a large bow. Her veil was of Brussels lace and she carried a bouquet, of whito and pale pink (lowers. Miss Bhona Fvfo, sister of the bride, attended as bridesmaid, and wore a frock of apricot taffeta, dipping at tho back and finished with lin v frills. Sliss Dorothy Barlow, also in apricot taffeta, was second bridesmaid. Both wore Tuscan lace hats, with georgette streamers, and carried bouquets to tone. Little, Naomi Russell and Ngaire McCallum, in pale green taffeta, and posies to (one, attended as flower girls. Mr. S. Slain, of Opotiki, was best man, and Sir. J. Cullen was groomsman. Mr. K. Light and Sir. X. Hepburn were ushers. OK AM—DAVIS. Tho wedding of Sliss "Vera Davis, third daughter of Sir. and Mrs. R. Davis, of Auckland, and Mr. Norman Ferguson, vounger son of Sirs. G. Nicoll, of Auckand the late Sir. D. Oram, of Tamworth, X.S.W., took place at the Church of Christ, Dominion Road, recently. Pastor ir. A. G. Clark was the officiating minister. The bride, -who was given away by her father, wore a frock of ivory georgette with silk lace medallions inset in the skirt and bodice and a spray of satin roses and orange blossoms caught from the shoulder to the skirt, 'flic embroidered silk net veil was held in place by a coronet of orange blossoms and a shower bouquet of while azaleas and roses with tulle and ribbon streamers was carried. Tho bride was attended by her sisters. Misses Myrtle and (liven Davis, botli wearing shell-pink two-flounce frocks of uneven hem, embroidered in deeper killings. They wore p-ink crinolino hats trimmed with self-tonings and carried bouquets of cyclamens and anemones with ribbon streamers. Slis.s Dorothy Davis, of Rotorua, attended the bride as a flower girl, and was dressed in turquoise blue georgette with silver trimmings and a tulle cap with silver leaves and blue daisies to tone. She carried a posy of daffodils and jonquils. Sir. F. Froan was best man and Sir. P. Wilson groomsi man.

DISCOMBE —HULME. A wedding of interest to friends in Ilokianga, Hamilton and Cambridge, was solemnised in St. Andrew's Church, Cambridge, by tho Rev. Lionel Harvie recently when Miss Daisy Linton ]lnline, twin daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J led ley Ilulme, of Maracroa, Ilokianga, was married to Mr. Albert Discombe, son of Mrs. Discombe, of Pukcroro, Waikato. '1 he bride, who was given away bv her mother, wore a simple frock of iyorv gcorgetlo with long sleeves and a silver girdle. Tho skirt was festooned with ruchings of taffeta and finished at the hem-lino with hand-mado silver flowers. Her Brussels net veil, which formed a train, was worn with a wreath of orange blossoms, and she carried a bouquet of pink and white hyacinths. The bridesmaids were the bride's twin sister, Miss Jeanne Ilulme, who woro a frock of lemon georgette with an uneven hemline, and felt hat to tone; Miss Eileen Morton, v.lio woro powder bluo georgette with a large hip bow, and touches of gold; and Miss Dorothy Ifulme, who was in champagne geon'elto with a frilled skirt. Tho best man° was Mr. G. Bloom field, and tho groomsmen were Mr. A. Ifulme and Mr. Discombe. Mrs. Hedlcy Jlulmo woro a frock of oyster shaded mnrneain with a hat to tone, and she carried a posy 01 primroses. Mrs. Discombe wore a navy .suit and black hat. and Mrs. Tilly, the bride's grandmother, woro black charmeuso and black furs.

Her bouquet was of apricot carnations. Miss Whi taker, principal of the Domestic Training College, where the bride is one of the staff, Mrs. A. H. Barker, tho Misses Parker, and Mrs. A. J. ilarrop wcro present. Dr. and Mrs. Aiken are on a motoring tour in Devon.
