OBITUARY.
MRS. S. A. MOORE-JONES. Mrs. Sarah Ann Moore-Jones, founder of the Ladies' College, Remuera, and a well-known figure in educational circles for many years, died in Auckland yesterday in her 91st year. Mrs. Moore-Jones was born in London. She trained at Cheltenham Ladies' College and was later a mistress of Kensington School. With her husband, the late Mr. David MooreJones, of Worcestershire, and their family, she came to New Zealand in 1884. Mrs. Moore-Jones taught for some time in Auckland schools and held first-class English and New Zealand certificates. About 27 years ago she established the Ladies' College, Remuera Road, and remained as principal for many years. About eight years ago she retired from active work in her profession, but continued to take a keen interest in,the college, whero her two daughters retain the association. Mr. David Moore-Jones died a few years ago. There is one son in Auckland, another in Sydney and another in Fiji. A fourth son was tho late Mr. Horace MooreJones, well known in art circles in Auckland as "Sapper Moore-Jones," who lost his life in a brave attempt to assist in rescue work at the disastrous fire which destroyed tho Hamilton Hotel some years ago.
MR. C. 0. CIIELLBURG. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] PUKEKOHE, Sunday The death occurred yesterday of Mr. Charles Ossian Chellburg, who was wellknown in the Pukekohe district, at the ago of 64 years. Mr. Chellburg was born in Stockholm and as a young man travelled in many parts of the world. Ho spent somo years in Australia and then came to New Zealand. He was married at Feiiding, and had since resided at Raetihi, Hawera and Pukekohe. He had been in business in Pukekoho for tho past six years.
