The chairman suggested that the time had como to erect a . butter factory apart from, the cheese factory. This could bo done by'taking in the present machinery at its book value of £1250, crediting this amount to ■ the cheese side arid charging it' to butter costs. A new building to house the plant was estimated to cost £ISOO and additional machinery and repairs at £347. After a lengthy discussion, the proposal to erect a new butter factory was adopted with only three dissentientu. It was stated during the meeting that standardised cheese had proved a great success and that the company's policy of waxing the cjheese was also most profitable anrl did not affect sfiles. Through waxing cheese tlie shrinkage had been reduced from 3 per cent, or 4 per cent, to about 1 per cent., and so long as the wax was applied tliinly and carefully there were no complaints. The chairman remarked that without waging the company could not have held its cheese a3 long as .it.had done in London. A bonus of £SO was granted tho manager, Mr. Madsen.
