GRAMMAR SCHOOL JUBILEE.
NEW ZEALAND TOPICS. Tlijs week's issue of the Auckland Weekly News provides a valuable souvenir of the diamond jubilee celebrations at tho Auckland Grammar School. Tho two contro pages are devoted to photographs taken at the old boys' gathering, while on another pago are studio portraits of tho late headmasters of tho school and a large group of past scholars. Rugby football enthusiasts will appreciate tho splendid selection of scenes at the Ranfurly Shield match between Wairarapa and Auckland. Tho All Blacks' final test match against Australia is also illustrated.
Of outstanding merit is a reproduction of the first photograph from tho air of tho new Tongariro hostel in the National Park. Two striking illustrations of the fatal landslides in the Maruia Valley, in the South Island, form another arresting page. A novel feature is a number of pictures taken at the Auckland Normal School during a recent exhibition of early Maori life and customs organised for the instruction of the pupils. Other N'ew Zealand photographs include a group of Auckland University College graduates; the Metropolitan Trotting Club's opening day nt Addington; private aviation in Blenheim; the Tourville at Wellington; and tho spectacular oil fire in Christcliurch.
