United Service. NEW YORK, Au S . 12. Wliiie flying at Chicago Jack Cope, a veteran airman, created a new record for a delayed drop. The aeroplane ascended to an altitude of 15,000 ft., when he stepped off and dropped 13,000 ft. before ho released his parachute cord. The terrific strain almost wrecked the parachute, but Cope managed to land safely.
