SYDNEY TIMBER TRADE.
VOLUNTEERS IN MILLS.
WORK LOST BY STRIKERS
(Received August 12, 11.45 p.m.) SYDNKY, Aug. 12. All the timber yards in the Metropolitan area are now fully staffed, in spite of the daily picketing. The trade depression, however, is responsible for slackness in this industry, and volunteer labour is more than sufficient for the requirements. The majority of the volunteers arc now quite efficient with the machines, and consequently the strikers have lost their employment permanently. The police are still guarding all the mills.
