SEASON'S WORK REVIEWED.

Tho annual meeting of shareholders of the Tauranga Co-operative Dairy Association, Limited, was held to-day, Mr. L. Tollemache, chairman of directors, presiding over a largo attendance. ' The directors' report staged that output for the past season totalled d9Q tons, an increase of 133 tons ovf the previous season, and a record for the association. Tho prices obtained 'for the butter were very satisfactory, and when final payments were made to suppliers it was estimated that they would have received 18.94 d per lb. superfine, including cream cartage.
After making provision for depreciation on plant and investments it was proposed to distribute tho profits as follows: —13 •per cent, dividend on shares; a further payment of 2d per lb. on September and' October (1928) supply; and a bonus of get per lb. over tho whole season when tunas permit. The chairman's report stated that the average grade of the butter-fat for tho season was 92.55, against 92.49 the previous year, and excellent reports were received from the firm which handled tho factory's output on tho English market. Tho balance-sheet disclosed that tho total trading receipts for tho year amounted to £142,737. The value of land, factorv buildings, dwellings and plant was £13,818. There are 406 suppliers. . KAITATA, Monday
The Empire marketing scheme for the disposal of dairy produce was thoroughly discussed afc a meeting of shareholders of tho Kaitaia Dairy Company. There were several speakers in favour of tho scheme. Tho secretary, Mr. L. A. Mcintosh, said that there was a weak link, in the privilege to associated companies of_ being allowed to sell f.o.b. if they desired to do so. Ho contended that, through it not being binding for companies to sell through tho amalgamation, tho very principle for which the movement, had been set on foot would bo undermined. Decision was held over indefinitely. It was decided that, it bo a special resolution for a meeting expressly called for that purpose that in future directors bo elected by tho postal ballot. The meeting decided against appointing a Government farm instructor, on the ground that ho would bo answerable only to the authorities, whereas the com pany's own instructor would bo under tho control of tho manager and tho direcAt a meeting of directors held later Mr. W.
