EARTHQUAKE RELIEF.

THE HERALD FUND.

TOTAL IN HAND £9580.

Over £7O was added yesterday to the Herald and Weekly News fund for tha relief of earthquake distress, raising the total received to date to £9580 14s sd. The widespread nature of the response to the appeal is indicated by the receipt of two sums of £lO from Sydney and Mel« bourne. Further subscriptions will be received at the Herald office and acknowledged in these columns. The list to date is as follows:

The Mayor's earthquake relief fund now totals £12,756 19s 6d, subscriptions received yesterday being as follows:—Previously acknowledged, £12,703 16s 6dj! staff Passenger Transport Co., second contribution, £4 10s; staff Todd Motor Co., Auckland, £4 9s 6d; Watorsiders' Social Club, £3; George Allman, A. L. Allman, £l.

THAMES VALLEY CENTRES-

The earthquake relief fund at Morrinsville stands at £365. A sum of about £770 has been subscribed at Te Aroha, £165 at Paeroa, £9O at Ngatea and £245 at Thames.
