[BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] MATAMATA, Thursday. The Public Works Department advised the Matamata County Coancil yesterday that after a thorough investigation of the statistics relating to each local bocly within tho Thames Valley Power Board area, it had 'been decided that no alteration in tho present allocation of members was justified. This decision means that the town district of Putaruru, which was formerly jioined with Matamata County, has now no representation on the Power Board. Messrs. J. W. Anderson (Tirau), K.S. Cox (Tohoroa) and J. Bruce (Karapiro) were appointed a Works Committee. Tho council decided to suggest to Mr. C. H. Clinkard, M.P., that the road giving access to the Salvation Army boys', training farm at Putaruru was a suitable one for being made the subject of an unemployed grant from the Government. The council decided that the chairman and engineer should meet the Transport Advisory Board when it sat in Hamilton, and protest against any reduction in heavy traffic fees. A motion was also passed protesting against the allocation of the personnel of the board. In reply to a letter from the Rotorua Borough Council protesting against the Mamaku Ibush section of the AucklandRotorua main highway being classified as a fifth-class road, the council reaffirmed its previous resolution to this effect.
