In the Police Court to-day Mrs. Beatrice Higgins, aged 37, was fined £ls, in default two months' imprisonment, for shoplifting. She stoic articles, mainly women's apparel, valued at- £lO 17s 6a, from a drapery store. Accused was described ns living happily with her husband. She was the mother of two children. She had given trouble to her family owing to drink, but had not previously shown dishonesty.
