FIELD AMBULANCE.
REUNION IN AUCKLAND,
PRESENTATION TO COLONEL.
A very successful reunion gathering of members of tho No. 2 Field Ambulance of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force was held at Nairn's tearooms, Newton, last evening, Colonel D. N. W. Murray, who commanded the unit, presiding over an attendance of over 60.
Special reference to the work of the stretcher-bearers and oilier members of tho various medical corps in the war was made in a letter from General Sir George Richardson. A letter was also received from the Prime Minister, Sir Joseph Ward, in which he paid a tribute to the work carried out by members of the medical services. Sir Donald McGavin, who commanded the ambulance division in France, also sent an apology for ahsence. Colonel Murray, in recalling incidents connected with the unit, mentioned that it was formed at Moascar Camp in after Gallipoli, and was composed of members of No. 1 unit, infantrymen and others. A short toast-list was honoured. Warm tributes were paid to the popularity of Colonel Murray, and ho was presented with an engraved silver cigarette case. An enjoyable musical programme was given. Tho organisers of the reunion were Messrs. McWilliams and Roberts.
