SOME INTERESTING PRODUCTIONS
With the amalgamation of First National Pictures and Warner Bros., the former company has a release schedule for New Zealand that is outstanding even in these days when big pictures are the rule and not the exception. With tho added attraction of sound some of these will be eagerly awaited by many picturegoers all over the countrv.
The brilliant A 1 Jolsen, whose remarkable work in " The Singing Fool " caused a sensation in America, will soon be seen and heard in New Zealand through the medium of Vitaphone. First National has two unique attractions in Miss Colleen Moore's remarkable aviation film " Love Never Dies," and Miss Corinne Griffith's spectacular production, " The Divine Lady," a picture of the romance of Lord Nelson and Lady Harniton. Lovers of melodrama, too, will bo well catered for in the First National screen version of the famous Drury Lane melodrama, " The Whip." Players now serving this imnortant joint organisation include John Barrymore, ,Miss Dolores Costello, Miss May McAvoy, Miss Billie Dove, Richard Barthelmess, Jack Mulhall, Miss Dorothy Mackaill and Miss Alice White.
Warner Bros' spectacular production, I" Noah's Ark," is featured in First National's attractions for this year. After a remarkable premiere in New York, this long-awaited film has been set for release in New Zealand. Critics have hailed the splendid work of the stars, George O'Brien and Miss Dolores Costello.
Miss Alice White, First National's newest star, has been signed for a long contract with that organisation. Her current production, " Naughty Baby," is to be followed by the delightful story, •" Bluffers." to be titled for movie purposes, " Hot Stuff."
