This is the proud record* of Mr. Frederick H. Ecker, who has succeeded the late Mr. Haley Kisko as head of tho Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, New York. Mr. Ecker was bom 61 years ago, the son of Alsatian immigrants, in the little town of Phoenicia, New York. At the ago of 15 he got a job as office boy with the then young Metropolitan Life Company. By 'dint' of hard work and study ho rose" to the position of vice president ten years ago. To-day he is tho most highly paid head of a business concern in tho country. His maxim throughout his business care.er, lie says, has been to "do a little more than you are asked to do."
