WEDDINGS.

BRAKE—FAIRE. On Monday evening the wedding took place at All Saints' Church, Ponsonby, of Miss Thelma Hazel Faire, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. Faire, of Auckland, to Mr Cecil Edgar Brake, only son of Mr. and Mrs. E. Brake, of Fiji. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. W. Averill. The bride entered the church ■with her father and wore a frock of ivory silk fringed lace over satin. Long, tight sleeves of rnariette were worn and the skirt was made with godets of mariette to form the uneven hemline. The gown was finished at the waist with a large taffeta "bow and silver leaves. Her veil of embroidered tulle was held in place with a coronet of orange blossom and fell softly over her shoulders, forming a train. A shower bouquet of white roses, pink dahlias with maidenhair fern with satin streamers was carried. There were two bridesmaids, Miss Jean Faire, sister of the "bride, and Miss Mavis Wengdel, cousin of the bride. The former wore a frock of blue crepe de chine arid georgette with shoulder posy of silver and head-dress of blue tulle arranged at tho side with a large bow and streamers. Her bouquet ■was of pink rosebuds and maidenhair fern. The latter's frock was of pale pink crepe do chine and georgette with touches of silver. Her head-dress was of pink thllo aisd her bouquet of pink rosebuds •with touches of blue. Mr. H. H. Faire •was best man and Mr. S. Beattie groomsman. After the ceremony a reception was held at the residence of the bride's aunt, Mrs. W. H. Wengdel, of Ponsonby Terrace, where Mrs. Faire and Mrs. Wengdal received their guests. The former wore a frock of navy crepe de chine with paleblue facings, and the latter a frock of black crepe de chine and georgette with touches of scarlet.

NICHOLSON—TEDDY. A quiet wedding was' celebrated at Christ Church, Ohaupo, on Tuesday when Miss Violet Teddy, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Teddy, of Innesfallen, Ohaupo, was married to Mr. Alick Nicholson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholson, of Te Kuiti. The Rev. Mr, Harvey, of Cambridge, performed the ceremony. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a frock of shell-pink georgette with a yoke of silver lace over pink satin and skirt with long flared panels falling from the waist. Iler pink embroidered veil was arranged with a coronet of orange blossom and she carried a shower bouquet of palest pink roses, chrysanthemums and maidenhair fern. Miss Laura Teddy attended her sister as bridesmaid and wore a frock of mauve georgette with uneven hemline finished at the waist with a spray ®T flowers to tone. A pastel-shaded felt xmt and bouquet to tono completed the toilet. The bridegroom ■ was attended by Mr. A. Cowley. After the ceremony the guests were entertained by the bride's parents at a reception held at their resi- j fscnco, Innesfallen, Ohaupo.
