At the annual meeting of the Ilauraki Plains Veterinary Club a committee was appointed to negotiate for the purchase of numerous proved remedies for the ailments of cattle prepared by the late Mr. J. Costello, veterinary surgeon to the club, whose death occurred recently. The following officers were elected:—President, Mr. C. W. Schullrt; vice-presidents, Messrs. IT. Burke and Nagg; committee, [Messrs. W. McCarthy, E. Martin, Andrews, G. Phillips and W. Jones. Tho report presented at the annual meeting of the Ngatea Public Hall Society disclosed a "fairly satisfactory" year's working. The committee had accepted liability for the cost of lighting the township, which had been defrayed by the proceeds of social functions. The statement of assets and liabilities showed a balance of assets over liabilities of £978 Is 3d. The following officers were elected : —President, Mr. G. T. Davidson; vicepresidents, Messrs. .1. Darlington and G. Phillips; secretary, Mr. S. Tarver; committee, Messrs. S. Phillips, Tt. C. Abel, IT. Dent, W. Wylde, C. S. Foster; lion. 1 auditor, Mr, E. L. Waltou.
