SWIMMING.
BOY SCOUTS' CARNIVAL. HERNE, BAY WINS PROUD CUP. The Auckland Boy Scouts' Association held its annual swimming sports at the Tepid Baths last evening. Scouts and wolf cubs attended in full force, and there was also a largo attendant o£ the public. Entries were heavy, the events were Iceenly contested, and some close finishes were witnessed. An atmosphere of enthusiasm prevailed, which grew as tho various events wero decided, being evident during relay races. Hie Scouts relay race for the Proud Cup was won by the holders, the -Kerne Bay troop, the Calliope Sea Scouts 1 troop being rumiersnp. The Scout commissioner, Mr. W. J. 3 folds worth, presented the winning team ■with tho trophy, and congratulated it 011 its success. Following are the results: — Scouts' Championship, 100 yards.—Johnftori, Home Bay. 1; 0. Holland, Calliope, 2; R. Gee, St. David's, 3. Scouts, under 14 years, 100 yards. First heat: Gilbird, Dcvonport, 1; G. Lollard, Shackleton, 2. Second heat: ratterson, Calliope, 1; Dnby, St. Aidan s, 2. Final: Gilbird, 1; Pollard, 2; Patterson, 3. Clubs' Championship, 33 1-3 yards.— First heat: Clarey, 'St. Mary's,-1; Parslow, Richmond, 2. Second heat:. Grant, ■St. James', 1; Latfa, Dcvonport, 2. Filial: Grant, 1: Latta, 2. " Cubs' Relay Race. —Vindictive, 1; St. Aidan's, 2. Scouts' Relay Race (Proud Cup).—First heat: Heme Bay. 1; St. Aidan s, 2. Second heat: St David's, 1; St. George's, 2. Third heat: Calliope, 1; Vindictive, 2. Final: Ilcrno Bay, 1; Calliope, 2.
