ENTERTAINING ROYALTY.
COST TO HARBOUR BOARD. The chairman of the Auckland Harbour Board, Mr. H. R. Mackenzie, states that, on looking further into the question of the expenditure in connection with the visit of the Duke and Duchess of York, he finds that the figure of £1994 quoted by him in reply to Mr. Rbenezer Allan's statements included the sum of £6OO spent in advertising the port in the special edition of the London Times. The net cost to the board of/ the entertainment of Their Royal Highnesses was therefore £1394, and not £3OOO, as stated by Mr. Allan.
