DICKENS FELLOWSHIP.
THIRD ANNUAL MEETING
The third annual meeting of the Auckland 'branch of the Dickens Fellowship was held at "I bo Castle" (Wemmick's) last, evening, when there was a large attendance, the president, (he Rev. A. 15. Chappell, presiding. The report of last year's activities, read by the president, showed that during the season tlio membership grew to nearly a hundred. Visits to England, including Doughty House—the headquarters of tlie Fellowship—had been made by one of the vice-presidents, Mi. W, E. Arey, and by the auditor, Mr. 11. C. Robinson, and Mrs. Robinson. Reference was made to Ihe, interesting syllabus carried out at the' fortnightly meetings last year. Officers were elected as follows:—President, Rev. A. B. Chappell (re-elected); vice-presidents, Mrs. Kenneth Gordon, Miss Stat ham, Messrs. W. E. Arey, T. Clarkson, G. 0. Grant, and F. S. T. Little; secretary, Mrs. Culpan; treasurer. Mr. J. W. Kealy, committee, Mrs. J D'Authreau, Miss Robinson. Messrs. Preston Chambers and B. Kidson ; auditor, /Mr. 11. C. Robinson. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the retiring secretary, Mr. W. Mervvn Lusty, who, owing to ill-health, declined renomination for that office.
An interesting programme for the comipg season was subsequently arranged by the executive. The first evening will be udvoted to "Our Mutual Friend."-
