A PARADE ON SUNDAY.
Sir, —Dame Rumour says, and I believo for once is a truthful jade, that there is to bo the presentation and trooping of tho new colours in the Domain on Anzae Day, to tho Auckland Regiment; and that the men ot tho Education Department Training College Company are to perform the, principal"evolutions in (ho ceremony; that a special parade is being called to practico theso at Narrow Neck on Sunday next. Of all the companies in tho regiment, this company is probably best fitted for the job; also, they are the least tied down by reason of occupation to give their time. Then, sir, why affront tho mass of public opinion by this unnecessary Sunday work? I presume the archbishop will be called upon to bless tho new colours. What hypocritical humbugs we are. Wo neither regard tho Sabbath nor Ilim who ordained it, and yet go through tho mockery of asking Ilim to bless our banners, t'or heaven's sake Iff, us lie frankly pagan or at least try to ho decently consistent Christians when '.'.'a liave the chance. Ano-humbug.
