Sunday The Everslie Coif Club, Panakura. oflicially opened its season yesterday. Fine weather prevailed and there was a large attendance, including visitors from tna Pupuke. Otahuhu. Papaktira and Pukekohe The visitors were welcomed by the president of tho club, Mr. P. J Parker and the captain, Mr. S. O. Rico. In declaring the links open for play Mr. Parker said it wits gratifying to see the club in this, its fourth, season, so far advanced that it was now extending its course from 12 to 18 holes. The full 18 holes should bo playable within two months Mrs. R. 11. Lover, captain of the ladies' division of tho club, formally opened play by driving the first ball. Mixed foursomes were then played and tho cxcollent condition of the links was the subject of much favourable comment. '['ho winners of the mixed foursomes wore Miss Cleary and Widdowson, who returned a card of 45 nett. Tho next best cards were as follows:—Miss Arbucklo and Freeman, 4fi; Mrs. Ma rid icon and Maddison, 47: Miss Parker and Ksy, 50; Mrs. Richardson and Richardson. 60: Mrs. Lever and Watson, 51.
