The Ist Takapuna. Troop of Girl Guides held their annual field day Saturday on Mr. "Robinson's property at Takapuna. Captain Johnston and Lieutenant Brentoul were in charge of arrangements and were assisted bv different patrols. Games were played and a very pleasant time spent by all concerned.

A non-stop flannel dance, in aid of the Band Queen. Miss Connie Porter, was held in tho Parish Hall, Dcvonport, last evening. The dance music was played by two orchestras, Bolton's- Dovonian Orchestra and Stancey's Society Orchestra, and supper was in charge of the-ladies* committee. The resulting funds are to aid in the purchase of equipment for tho Devonport United Band.

A children's' party was given on Saturday afternoon for tho junior pupils by Miss , Hilda Parkinson at her studio. Elocution, dancing, musical items and games were much appreciated l>« the children.
