THE REPAROA SETTLEMENT.
A SATISFACTORY SEASON. CONFIDENCE IN THE FUTURE. [nY TELEGRAPH. —OWN COIUIESrONDENT.] HAMILTON. Sunday The soldier settlers at Reparoa report having experienced a satisfactory dairying season to date. Many of the sections aro in excellent order, and feed appears to bo plentiful. The cattle, while not in as good condition as thoso in the Waiknto, are doing well. Many of the settlers are growing oats and turnips and have had satisfactory takos. The arrangements under which they have their cream carted to Rotorua for railage to the Waikato factories and their goods carted back aro satisfactory. Haymaking has not yot commenced. and will probably occupy the settlers during •he Christmas period. One of the main difficulties confronting the settlors is the matter of drainage, and the excess of moisture on some of the sections has militated against successful farming. Several settlers expressed satisfaction with the manner in which the Government had mot their requests for the revaluation of their sections and the reduction of their rent. The tone generally in the settlement it one o! hopeful confidence in the future.
