STORM AT SYDNEY.
LIGHTNING VERY VIVID.
HEAVY RAIN WELCOMED
(Received December 16, 5.5 p.m.) SYDNEY, Dec. 16. There was a heavy thunderstorm last evening over the city, and for several hours tho lightning was particularly vivid.
Several reports are current that buildings were struck, but so far they have not been authenticated. Tho rain was torrential at times, but it is welcomed on all sides, as the long dry spell has parched the countryside.
