VESSEL BUMPING BADLY.

PASSENGERS TAKEN OFF

(Received December IG, 5.5 p.m.) SYDNEY, Dec 16 The Burns Philp Company has been advised that the steamer Morinda is still aground at the entrance to Dedele Harbour, Papua. Attempts to refloat her have been unsuccessful and the vessel is bumping badly. The Montoro has gone to the Morinda's assistance.

Later reports from Port Moresby state that the passengers loft the stranded steamer yesterday.
