KING'S BENCH JUDGE.
SIR MALCOLM MACNAGHTEN.
BY-ELECTION FOR COMMONS.
British Wireless. RUGBY, Deo. 14. The appointment is announced of Sir Malcolm Martin Macnaghten as a Judge of tho King's Bench Division, in place of the late Mr. Justice Salter. This necessitates a by-election in tho City and County of Londonderry, which since 1922 Sir Malcolm has represented in tho House of Commons. Sir Malcolm Macnaghten is a son of the lato Lord Macnaghten. He was born in 1869, and oducuted at Eton and Trinity, Cambridge. He was called to tho Bar in 1894. He was knighted in 1920. At the general election in 1924 he polled 30,875 votes, and his Republican opponent, Mr. C.. MacWhinney, 5869 votes. Ha ii | Conservative.
